This is my ultimate guide to Pak Chong and Khao Yai. I included fun things to do in Khao Yai and the Pak Chong Night Market too!
How to get to Pak Chong and next to Magical Khao Yai
At 6.30am, we used Uber from our hotel to Bus Station North East Mochit. Let your UBER driver know that you want to go to Pak Chong by bus. Just go to the counter and tell them you want to go to Pak Chong. And that's the start of our almost 3 hours ride.
Tips: Choose a sit near to the bus driver seat so that you can always ask them if it is near to Pak Chong because there will be a few Pak Chong bus stop along the way and you do not want to miss the correct bus stop. Another way is to check your GPS after 2 hours of the ride to check whether you are almost there.
Why Pak Chong and not directly to Khao Yai?
We do not want to miss the Pak Chong night market. The best thing is our hotel is just a walking distance to the night market and the bus station!
Where do you stay at Pak Chong and how to go Pak Chong Hotel?
Pak Chong hotel! It's cheap and clean. The staff is also friendly. They even upgraded our room without any extra charges. From the bus station, they will ask you where do you want to go and they will suggest you take the motor tuk-tuk. If you have few pieces of luggage, well just take it then.
Khao Yai itinerary and how to go to Khao Yai?
I think we have the coolest transportation to Khao Yai for that day. We did not see anyone but us using tuk-tuk to Khao Yai. LOL. It's the cheapest mode of transportation compared to hiring private van or driver (around 1,500 to 1,800 baht). It cost us 1,000 baht only for half day to wherever we want. We agreed on 5 places at Khao Yai but since we run out of time, we just managed to go to 3 places.
It takes us around 50 minutes from Pak Chong to our first destination; The Bloom. But before that, we went to book our wine tour for the 3.30pm slot. While waiting for our tour, we went to The Bloom.
Khao Yai attractions and fun things to do in Khao Yai
The Bloom
It's just a minute away from PB Valley so it's a good place to go while waiting for your vineyard tour. It's a large garden area of over 100 acres. I can say your ultimate place for Instagram backdrop! Be creative and explore this germ. Don't forget to wear your sunblock and bring your umbrella.
Entrance fee is 100 baht for adult and 50 baht for children.
PB Valley Khao Yai Winery
The tour is conducted 5-times daily at 09:00 am +10:30 am, +12:00 noon + 01:30 pm and 03:30 pm and takes about 75 minutes.
The rate for above tour is Baht 320 net/adult and Baht 250 net/children aged 4 to 20
years of age. Children under 4 years are free of charge.
The tour will include explanations about the various wine and grapes in the estate,, vineyards tour and also wine tasting. It was an experience that you should not miss!
Another alternative to PB Valley, you can check out GranMonte Valley.
Palio Village
There's no entrance fee and you can walk around this Italian paradise for pictures and also shop. It does feel like we are on another side of the world when we are here. The building and the design is magnificent!
There are a lot more interesting places along the way too like Primo Piazza, Chocolate Factory and unique cafe everywhere!
Pak Chong Night Market
We had our dinner at Pak Chong Night Market. They have mouthwatering street food along with a variety of desserts and delicious BBQ dishes. Be sure not to miss them. Definitely will come back here again next time!
